About Dr. Zachary Koretz
Zachary Koretz, MD, MPH is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon (Retina Specialist) with a passion for patient care and a remarkable background in eye health.
Originally from Los Angeles, Dr. Koretz graduated first his class from Tulane University School of Medicine where he also earned a Master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology. At Tulane, Dr. Koretz was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and he was elected president of the medical student body. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh and a fellowship at the prestigious Shiley Eye Institute at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Koretz has authored numerous research publications on retinal imaging, infectious eye diseases, and ChatGPT in ophthalmology. He also served as a clinical instructor at UC San Diego and the San Diego VA Medical Center, sharing his expertise with future doctors. His community work includes leading free eye clinics for underserved populations and medical mission trips.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Koretz enjoys photography, cooking, and exploring Denver with his wife, two daughters, and their Golden Retriever.
